Teach Happy is a social enterprise.  What does this mean?

“Social enterprises are businesses that are changing the world for the better.” Social Enterprise UK

“In a nutshell, they are businesses that are trading in order to provide essential services in their communities; to tackle some of the biggest problems in society or to address environmental issues. With the profits they generate from trading, social enterprises reinvest back into the business or the local community, continuing to provide jobs and other benefits to their communities.” Irish Social Enterprise Network

All of this means Teach Happy

  • has a clear social mission with the objective of achieving social impact rather than generating profit for owners and shareholders

  • generates the majority of its income through providing services and products

  • reinvests at least fifty per cent of its profits

  • operates in an entrepreneurial and innovative way

  • is accountable and transparent

Investing  in you

As teachers, support staff and leaders, you are creating futures every day in your school communities, for yourself and for the children, young people and families you work with. Not only do we value you as a person behind the role, we value the work you do. Our future aims are to reinvest profits into projects that benefit you and your school.

The Happy Startup Canvas

To create an impactful, people focused business from the beginning, we signed up for The Happy Startup School's "Stop Dreaming, Start Doing" e-course where we created our happy startup canvas. This guides how we work with you and helps us to concentrate on being a positive and person-centered enterprise. You can download a word version here.
